Invitation

ISPRS WG II/5 and WG II/10 International Workshop

“Photogrammetric and computer vision techniques for

video surveillance, biometrics and biomedicine” – PSBB21

April 26-28, 2021, Moscow, RUSSIA
Abstract submission Deadline: 15 December 2020 04 January 2021

Photogrammetric and computer vision methods for surveillance, biometrics, biomedical imaging and diagnostics attract growing attention in recent years. Nowadays such interdisciplinary collaboration is an essential point for providing new developments and tools in this area.

The 4th International Workshop “Photogrammetric and computer vision techniques for video surveillance, biometrics and biomedicine” is intended to offer presentations and discussions of novel achievements in photogrammetric and computer vision researches for analysis of human body/features/behavior/environment both in security/surveillance applications and in biomedical tasks. This workshop is the forth in a row after the successful editions in 2015, 2017 and 2019. This year PSBB’21 is organized by ISPRS (WG II/5 and WG II/10), State Research Institute of Aviation System (GosNIIAS, Russia), Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU, Russia) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT, Russia).

We invite researchers to submit the original contributions, as well as demonstrations of successful applications in accordance with but not limited to the following technical areas:

The Workshop topics:¶

  • motion and change detection from monocular or stereo images sequences
  • motion analysis, object detection and tracking for video surveillance, biometrics and biomedicine
  • human detection and person (re-)identification in video sequences
  • human body 3D modelling, measurement and shape analysis
  • human motion 3D capturing and analysis
  • human action detection and recognition: gesture recognition, crowd analysis, behavior estimation
  • face detection, recognition and 3D modeling
  • medical imaging, visualization and systems
  • vision-based computer-aided diagnostics
  • virtual and augmented reality
  • image analysis and photogrammetric applications for biometry and biomedicine
  • mathematical morphology, shape analysis, 2D and 3D shape matching
  • deep learning for object detection and recognition in video surveillance, biometrics and biomedicine

One-day Joint Session with TVCS’21:

This time we include a one-day special session on computer vision methods for control systems applications in PSBB’21 Program. The session is organized in cooperation with Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS) as a joint session with Russian scientific conference “Technical Vision in Control Systems-2021” (TVCS’21). Joint session will be held on April, 27. Joint session working languages are Russian and English.

Demo Session:

Researchers from universities, academic institution and industry are invited to present live demonstrations of photogrammetric and machine vision applications to the workshop participants. Demo presentations are not limited to papers accepted to PSBB21. Any demonstration showcasing the effectiveness of computer vision methods are welcome. Industrial demonstrations focused on novel research outcomes are invited.

Demonstrations will be held in parallel with the poster sessions on April, 26 and 28.

Important Dates:

  • Abstract due date: January 04, 2020
  • Authors notification: February 04, 2021
  • Rebuttal period: February 11, 2021
  • Camera ready paper due date: March 15, 2021

Abstract submission:¶

Abstracts for PSBB21 should be 1000-1500 words (approximately 1-2 pages of single-spaced 12 point font). Please use ISPRS template when preparing your abstract. Authors are encouraged to include figures and diagrams to illustrate the concepts outlined in the abstract. Please download your abstract before December 15, 2020 using workshop submission website. The accepted submissions based on abstracts, formatted according to the ISPRS template, will be published in the ISPRS Archives of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences.

The accepted articles will be published in the ISPRS Archives of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences (http://www.isprs.org/publications/archives.aspx). The best papers of PSBB21 will be recommended for publishing in Special issue of MDPI Journal of Imaging with preparing an extended version of the paper.

COVID-19 information

We understand that COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed circumstances for most. Nevertheless we believe that scientific information sharing should not stop even in such challenging situation. With conditions being uncertain, we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation permanently. ¶

The health and safety of our participants and staff come first, so we came to the decision of holding ISPRS PSBB21 workshop as a hybrid event, including onsite sessions and virtual sessions. If the environment will change, we will disseminate new information via PSBB21 web-site and email.¶

Visa Information

Attendees from certain countries may not require a visa to enter Russia. For more details, please visit the Federal Migration Service website.

Letters of Invitation

If you are listed as an author of workshop paper, or as a speaker or other type participant in the program, and you require an Official Invitation Letter for visa application purposes, please look for the instructions published at the workshop website.
